The SCDSB’s elementary virtual learning program will continue to be available to students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 for the 2023-2024 school year, although not all programs will be available. French Immersion will continue to be offered only in-person at the designated schools throughout the board.

Students enrolled in the virtual learning program will be enrolled as students at Allandale Heights Public School (Barrie). The virtual learning program offers 300 minutes of synchronous learning (via Google Classroom), as well as various instructional resources and supports. Students registering in the elementary virtual learning program should have a learning style consistent with learning online (e.g., reliable internet, access to their own up-to-date technology [computer and/or Chromebook], a suitable dedicated work-location, including supervision and support) to maximize success when learning virtually. Students wishing to participate in the elementary virtual learning program must reside in Simcoe County. Families may be required to provide proof to Allandale Heights Public School that they are residing in Simcoe County and the province of Ontario as their primary residence during the 2023-24 school year.
